Embedded Finance Review Podcast, episode 8. Published 6 September 2024. Guest: Niklas Radner, co-founder and CEO of Nelly Solutions. Host: Lars Markull.

Lars Markull: My name is Lars Markull. Today we dive into the intersection of fintech and healthcare. I'm speaking with Niklas Radner, who's the CEO and co-founder of Nelly Solutions. Nelly provides medical practices with a patient onboarding and payment solution, and is currently expanding their fintech stack.

I'm speaking with Niklas about how they started Nelly, why he thinks it was their advantage that the co-founding team did not have any experience in healthcare, and what their ultimate goal is with Nelly. Let's dive in.

Welcome

Lars Markull: Hey Niklas, welcome to the podcast. How are you doing today?

Niklas Radner: Hi Lars. Thank you for inviting me. I'm good. I'm in Cologne, my home city, working from our office here, and looking forward to our podcast.

Lars Markull: Amazing. So it's a truly distant podcast, as I'm sitting right now in Mumbai. So Cologne to Mumbai, talking about an exciting topic in embedded finance.

What Nelly is

Lars Markull: We're going to talk a lot about finance or fintech in a specific area. Niklas, you're the co-founder and CEO of a German startup called Nelly. Nelly Solutions targets German or European medical practices. You provide them a specific type of software, trying to help make their life easier. Maybe to kick things off, can you give us a little bit of an elevator pitch? What is the offering of Nelly exactly, and who are your ideal customers?

Niklas Radner: Sure. So basically, as you already said, we are offering a software and fintech product for medical practices. What we do leads to reduced admin work in medical practices, because this is the biggest pain point so far. We offer a digital and optimised patient journey from check-in to checkout, as well as a financial suite as a one-stop solution for medical practices that they need to settle up with patients, and also with statutory health insurances.
